See the mountains?  Nope, me neither!  Yesterday's cloudiness continues, only closer to the ground today.

It's been a gray day, but still pretty in its own moody way.

The days are getting noticeably shorter!  This first one was taken around 7:15 this morning - not much daylight showing...

This was taken about 5:30 this evening - you can see the sunset light starting up the base of the mountains. 

Day 23

We are getting a bit more color on the trees, and a bit more nip in the air every day.  I love this time of year! 

Day 22

We had a rainy night last night, and this morning was still a bit cloudy, but better than it had been.  There's considerably more snow on the mountains than there was last time we saw them! 

By this afternoon it had brightened up considerably!

Another cloudy day!  It was like this when I got up, it was like this all day, and it'll be like this until it gets dark!  It has been raining or drizzling all day.  We were a little hoping for snow, but just got cold rain.  Oh well, we'll be seeing the white stuff soon enough!

So a night of rain cleared out the clouds, to reveal...

That would be that termination dust  everyone was talking about!  Hello, winter!

This morning we were pretty sure we saw termination dust on a couple of peaks we saw through the fog, but nothing was clear enough to tell for sure.  Time will tell...

The fall colors are coming out more and more every day!  It's a pretty day, a bit cloudy but otherwise nice.  It was in the 40s this morning, but this evening we have the windows open - love that fresh air!

Another rainy day - these were taken around 1 in the afternoon.  On the plus side, it makes for some dramatic clouds!

And still no termination dust!  That darn global warming!

Here are a couple pictures taken at 5:30 in the evening today - it cleared up quite a bit.

This second one is zoomed in quite a bit more to show off the fall colors on the mountain a little better!

Cloudy, moist day. 

One of these days, I plan to take pictures of the same view every hour to show how dramatically the weather and the light change here throughout the day.  Just need to figure out the timer setting on the camera, or else load up on coffee and do it manually :)

Some beautiful autumn color...

It's a little hard to make out - it's a slightly overcast day.  Hopefully it will be sunnier tomorrow and we'll get a clearer image of the colors.  We're a little surprised we haven't seen any snow on the mountains yet (known in AK parlance as termination dust)!  But we'll enjoy the fall colors for now :)

Taken around 4:30 pm.  It's a beautiful afternoon - I would almost call it balmy!  Having a good Labor Day by not laboring.

Probably another lazy day today - possibly a jaunt to a hardware store, but otherwise, just hanging around the house.

The first image was taken around 5:30 this evening. It's a beautiful clear day today!

This second one is a little offset from the first at around 8:30.  Still clear. 

Didn't do too much today - it's the start of the long weekend, and I felt like being lazy.  A little housework, a little Wii gaming, a little Mystery Science Theater.  Ah...  Now that's a Saturday!
